FAQ

"The Rainbow Flag already stands for Gay MLM, isn't it enough for you?"

Citing Wikipedia & it's sources, "The rainbow flag... is used as a symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) pride and LGBTQ social movements." The Rainbow Flag has always been for all members of the LGBTQ Community to use and stand under, not just for Gay men.

It is not wrong, incorrect, or historically revisionist for Gay men to make their own flags in the same way that it is not wrong or bad for Lesbians or Bisexuals or Trans people to have their own flag. Our experiences and lives as Gay men are unique and our love should be celebrated.

"No gay men actually want this flag, this is just sowing division in the community"

The fact that so many people are making proposals and getting excited about them is proof enough that many gay men do want a flag.

The Rainbow Flag is not being dropped or replaced in any way. A Gay Man Flag is just an addition and is often used in tandem or along-side with the Rainbow Flag.

"I won't be using this flag!/This flag is ugly!"

No one minds if you, personally, don't want to use a flag. No one is or should force you to use any pride symbol if you don't connect with it.

However this doesn't give you a pass to be rude or toxic to the creator(s) or to the people who do choose to use it.

If you dislike a flag or don't want to use it, you can seek out alternatives or simply ignore it.

Misinfo About Flag Creators
